The lightbox was created in Turkish wood and features a cut and polished Ankara Agate plate. Plate size: 11.5 x 7.8 x 1.5 cm Refined and wired locally in Vancouver by Dale Ramsey. The cord is 125cm, USB compatible and comes with a standard wall plug. These lamps give off a luminous glow, suitable for bedside or nightlights. -

Chalcedony Handleless Teacup A design collaboration between Crystalworks and Luis Alberto. Lovingly created in the workshop of L’Aquart in Lima, Peru. Material: This material comes from Saricakaya in Turkey. This mine has been producing Chalcedony for 3,000 years, most notably by the Romans as signets for rings. Use and Care: This chalcedony teacup is fully functional, and can be used with hot liquids or for ceremonial or decorative purposes. -

Curiously the word Çubuk in Turkish means stick although the city was named long before these agates were ever discovered there. Stick agate owes its fascinating patterning to zeolite which completely gave up its columnar form to silica creating a seemingly endless variety of evocative designs.
